The Room Without Windows: “The Infinite Library”
In a room without windows, where the outside world feels distant and out of reach, a dream of growth and hope takes shape: THE INFINITE LIBRARY, our concept. In a space with no openings to the outside, the library becomes opportunity. Books become windows onto a better future, represented by the light illuminating the scene. This is not simply a physical place, but a symbol of unlimited access to endless stories, ideas and inspiration, and ultimately, to freedom. Books are not just static objects, but true tools of social transformation, able to offer a deep and lasting experience, a journey that can genuinely change a life.
At the centre stands a eucalyptus plant, typical of Madagascar, a symbol of fertility and growth that thrives regardless of the sandy ground it is rooted in. The choice to create a figurative piece, one that steps away from architecture's rational lines, comes from the architect's wish to involve her daughter Matilde, a student at the Accademia di Brera with a great passion for drawing. The result is a narrative, dreamlike work representing the transformative power of education and culture, even in contexts of poverty and hardship. Books and school become vital tools for building a future for a young person who, just like the eucalyptus, grows strong and resilient in ground that seems unsuited to it.
Chiara Caberlon, born in Milan in 1972, brings a rich background in architecture and design. After graduating from the Politecnico di Milano, she begins her career in 1997 as an interior designer for prestigious fashion companies and international banks, showcasing her creativity and her ability to combine aesthetics and functionality in every project.
Passionate about hospitality and travel, the hôtellerie sector soon becomes her field of choice. Travel has always been an integral part of Chiara's development, a constant source of inspiration: every place she visits helps shape her vision, enriching her projects with an international perspective and a distinctive cultural sensitivity reflected throughout her work.
In 2004 she founds the studio CaberlonCaroppi, which in 2023 she chooses to dissolve in order to pursue her own personal venture, including new areas such as a division dedicated to product design and one focused on communication specifically for the hôtellerie sector, ensuring a deeper approach to the "hotel" project.
Studio Chiara Caberlon is today an established practice with over 200 completed projects, working with a wide range of partners: Italian and international hotel chains, design companies and investment funds. It is a place that reflects the professional evolution and commitment to excellence of its founder, drawing energy from the experience of every member of the team.
