Hospitality and Narrative Design: Identità Milano 2026

This year once again, Identità Milano hosted Speciale Ospitalità, the event held on June 8th at the Spazio Arena that brought together, for an entire day, some of the most authoritative professionals in the Italian and international hospitality sector, in a multi-voice conversation on the themes reshaping the way hospitality is conceived today. This is a particularly favorable moment for the sector: despite global economic and geopolitical uncertainties, tourism continues to grow at a strong pace, with projections confirming it as one of the most solid and driving forces of the global economy, capable of generating large-scale employment in the years ahead. Italy too fits into this positive scenario, standing out among European markets with some of the most promising growth prospects.

Chiara Caberlon and Design as Storytelling

Within this dynamic context, the theme of spatial design found its voice in the talk "Hospitality as a Narrative Machine: Designing Spaces and Imagining Stories," moderated by Anna Calvanese. Chiara Caberlon, founder of Studio Chiara Caberlon Architetti, brought her own perspective to the stage alongside other leading figures in hospitality design.

The thread running through the conversation was the idea that designing a hotel today means far more than shaping functional spaces: it means building a genuine narrative, one capable of creating a memorable experience for those who live it. This approach reflects a growing trend in contemporary hôtellerie, where architecture becomes as much a narrative tool as an aesthetic or functional one.
